I do not think that they will sing to me.”

Nothing can be truer than fairy wisdom. It is as true as sunbeams.

Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths.

A sighting of two or more magpies is considered lucky!

I am painting a series of canvases based on the traditional magpie rhymes, including this one: "One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver and six for gold, seven for a secret, never to be told!"

"Good morning Mr.Magpie, how's your wife?"...

There are so many interesting tales and superstitions surrounding magpies in the British Isles. Some think a single sighting of this bird means bad luck. Many believe if you recite the line above, your bad luck will be counteracted.
