Painted for Red Hen's 2005 exhibition 'Making Waves' on the theme of the Sussex coast this is one of a series of paintings depicting mackerel - the local catch. This painting shows a mermaid swimming with a shoal of mackerel off the Sussex coast with the cliffs of the Seven Sisters Country Park in the background (between Brighton and Eastbourne) and the Bell Tue Lighthouse, just West of Beachy Head.
